Tip of the Week: Always Remove Your Makeup!

Tip of the Week
Always Remove Your Makeup!

Preventing stains from ending up on your pillow case are not the only reason why you should remove your makeup each night before bed.

Sleeping with makeup on can lead to blemishes, clogged pores, loss of eye lashes and irritated skin.

It is not secret that makeup blocks our skin pores, which blocks the natural flow of sebum(the skins natural oil) to keep the skin nice and moisturized and rid dry skin cells. When your pores are blocked, dry skin cells can stick on to the pores resulting in infections such as pimples, acne, blackheads, and dry skin.

Mascara makes eyelashes thick, hard and inflexible especially if you add more than one coat to your lashes. if your eyes itch at night, for one reason or another, you have the potential to break off your lashes. Lashes fall out all the time, but leaving your makeup on at night can increase the chances of that happening.

If you leave your eye shadow on at night, it can lead to dry eye lids. Also, not all eye shadows are matte; therefore, glitter and sparkles can fall into your eyes causing redness and irritation.

Eye infections can certainly be caused from leaving your makeup on at night. Makeup  contains chemicals which tend to drain into your eyes as you sleep. These harmful chemicals can eventually cause loss of eye sight, pink eye, and serious eye infections.

To avoid these problems, use makeup remover wipes and a good facial cleanser followed by a moisturizer to keep your skin healthy, blemish free and looking fresh!
